🚀 SELFDESTRUCT on TRON: A Strategic Move Toward Security & Ethereum Compatibility

At Developer Conference #43, the TRON community proposed an upgrade to the SELFDESTRUCT opcode, aligning with Ethereum’s EIP-6780 — a strategic move with multiple implications:

🔍 1. Security Perspective:
Previously, SELFDESTRUCT could be exploited to disrupt network state or execute DoS attacks. With the proposed update, it can only fully remove a contract if called within the same transaction that created it, significantly reducing attack surfaces.

⚙️ 2. Cost & Performance Optimization:
Instead of consuming 0 energy, the instruction will now cost 5000 energy — enough to deter abuse while remaining efficient for valid use cases.

🤝 3. Cross-Chain Compatibility:
By aligning with EIP-6780, TRON moves closer to the Ethereum ecosystem, enabling smoother cross-chain dApp development and smart contract portability.

🧠This is a lean yet impactful upgrade. It reflects TRON’s maturity in building a more secure, stable, and developer-friendly platform. A solid step forward in the global DeFi and Web3 expansion.

This isn’t just a technical patch. It’s a long-term network strategy.
